The Garber Fam: 6 Weeks with Everett

Everett's been with us for 6 weeks now... Can you believe it? Just in case, here's the proof :)

And now he's already over a month old...

Well, we've adjusted really well to our family of four (five with Jackson, of course)! The weeks have gone by so quickly, but I can honestly say I've really soaked them up. I've sat here many times holding a sleeping Everett, knowing I have plenty to do but that these times with a newborn are fleeting and so very special. He's already growing so quickly...

Everett has been a mellow baby, and he's been a good eater and sleeper so far (every time I say this I knock all of the wood around me). We're blessed to say the least. He looks SO much like his sister did as an infant! It seems like we stare at him every day, wondering how we made such a beautiful little person.

Ella has been such a great big sister. She has energy to burn, curiosity, spunk and so much to say every day, but she has remained pretty independent of Everett until the last week or two. She's starting to talk to him and want to help him more, though she's still more concerned with Mommy than him (and being with me when he needs me, too). All in all, she's been very loving, which is great.

Chris was able to spend the first few weeks at home, first at the hospital the whole time and then around the house. My mom helped us during that first week at home, and again it made for a smooth transition as a family, took away lots of stress, made Ella feel important and have fun, and created really special memories I'll treasure. Since then, we've had lots of snuggle time, family and friend visits, "firsts," and quality time around the house.
